Description: The 2010 Pinot Noir is cherry red in colour and has perfumed aromas of strawberry, clove and cinnamon with flavours of sour cherry, plum and allspice on a smooth palate.
Details: WINEMAKING
The grapes were crushed by a combination of the pigeage method (using feet) and conventional mechanical crushing. Pigeage continued in open fermenters throughout fermentation for 30% of the wine with the other 70% being lightly pumped over twice per day. The grapes were seeded with burgundy yeast. The wine was pressed off the skins at 2° Baumé with 50% of the juice completing primary and malolactic fermentation in French and Hungarian barrels (a combination of new and used). This portion was matured in oak for 12 months. The remaining 50% completed primary/malolactic fermentations and
maturation in stainless steel. The wine was lightly filtered before bottling.
Millton La Cote Pinot Noir presents a soft, feminine poise, with floral and strawberry notes and spicy, savoury touches adding complexity and a dry, rounded finish. A gentle wine with old world charm – violets.
The Omrah Pinot Noir has aromas of cherry and raspberry with that distinctive spice of Pinot on the nose, and subtle undertones of oak. Supple and smooth with lashings of sweet fruit on the palate, it has finely polished tannins and balanced acidity that provide a finely poised backbone for the vibrant fruit flavours and varietal spice notes. This wine finishes with a great length.
