  • Description: Slightly austere, restrained fruit, a hint of honeysuckle and great palate length, with white stone fruit and savoury nutty characters; this is an elegantly structured wine with a long, fine, bone dry finish.
  • Details: Winemaking Prior to whole bunch pressing, the hand harvested bunches were chilled for 36 hours. Barrel fermentation was then carried out in new, one and two year old French Alliers and Vosges barriques. 60% of the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in French barriques. The wine is matured in oak for 10 months with regular stirring of yeast lees to enhance flavour and texture.

This wine is grown at 930 metres above sea level - which is pretty damn high in Australian wine terms. Safe to say it would be cool up there. It’s a chardonnay of good dimension too. It’s a mouthful of grapefruity, lemony, nectarine-like flavour. Smoky oak adds a nice sense of complexity.
