Description: It is a boutique winery with capacity to produce 15,000 litres of wine. While concentrating its small production on Gewürztraminer and Chardonnay, both being varieties that grow well in Gisborne, it has recently added Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris and Cabernet Franc to its range. While still very young, Amor-Bendall Wines has collected over 80 medals and media awards since establishment. Of recent note was the award for Champion Sauvignon Blanc at the Air New Zealand Wine Awards 2004. Amor-Bendall continues to be a winery worth watching.
Details: From a relatively cool single vineyard situated near Motueka, 100% hand-picked and whole bunch pressed. A long cool fermentation, has retained the fresh aromatic characters of sweet capsicum, gooseberry, passionfruit and herbal characters typical of Nelson Sauvignon Blanc.
