Description: What a first effort from Pete Logan with one of his most favourite varietals.
The 208 vintage is on it's way after just winning a gold at the Murrumbateman Cool Climate Wine Show.
Was £9.99, Now £8.50
Details: The 2007 Riesling is pale gold in colour, has aromas of orange blossom and cold tea with flavours of
lime and quince. A slightly sweet core is balanced by racy acidity and a little ‘spritzig’ freshness.
Producer: Logan Wines – Central Ranges, NSW, Australia
The nose displays a hint of toast which overlies the still intense ripe lime and citrus fruit aromas. Citrus continues through to the palate dominating the flavours with lime peel and marmalade and finishing with lemon drop crispness. The wine is only just showing the first signs of bottle age after 5 years, indicating that there is still a long future in front of it. A clean and dry Riesling with refreshing natural acidity, and with a finesse to rival even the Mosel. Partner with plaice.
Aromas of sweet lemon and blossoms, and a palate showing obvious sweetness, with some sherbet lightness and zing, oranges, peaches, stewing apple, almost tropical.
On the nose this Riesling impresses with citrus, green apples and apricots, plus a floral undertone. Very clean and zesty, this shows tight concentrated fruit
