Description: Monvigliero is known as the most prestigious single vineyard in Verduno town and is definatley one of the most symbolic of Barolo country. The wine from Monvigliero is austure and complex.
Details: Wine making:
Hand harvested in October, fermentation and maceration took place over 16 days at 29-30c. Part of the wine was aged for the first 6-8 months in 500 ltr French oak barrels and then 22-24 months in 20-25 hectolitre French oak casks; the remaining ages 28-30 months in Slavonian oak, after the wine is finned in stainless steel and then spends 12 month in bottle. Production 5000 bottles.
This is a classical style, structured Barolo with delicate perfume of roses and cherries, but underpinned by tannins and acidity that will keep the wine fresh and lively for many years to come - one for the cellar.
