Glenborrodale – “fortified valley” (locals speak of a viking warrior named “borrodil”), clings to the north of Loch Sunart. The enticing, single track road leads you through the village and past the magnificent castle, once home to diamond magnates and philanthropists, now a warm and welcoming Highland haven. It then carves its way through ancient rock and woodland to the tiny hamlet of Glenbeg, and Adelphi’s singular Ardnamurchan Distillery.
Tasting Notes: Honeysuckle, Crunchy Nut Cornflakes and flapjacks with honey. Oodles of McCowan’s Highland Toffee, salted popcorn and a hint of fresh mint with a wisp of smoke.
