Foursquare Equidem – Exceptional Cask Selection Mark XXVII Rum – 61%
Mark XXVII in the Exceptional Cask Selection series from Foursquare is the first to feature ex-Black Muscat cask maturation, and the results are glorious.
It’s a blend of two rums: one aged five years in ex-bourbon casks then another nine in those heady, floral ex-Black Muscat barrels; and the other a fourteen-year-old ex-bourbon-matured number. Both were distilled from molasses using pot and column stills, then married at Foursquare and bottled at 61% ABV without additives, filtration, or colouring. It’s proper rum, done properly.
